Managing Partners

Luis E. Paul

Luis is Managing Director of OBE Power Networks and Partner and CEO of the Otepi Group. Founded in 1967, OTEPI develops and execute energy and industrial projects with extensive experience in LatinAmerica, USA and Europe. Luis has been directly involved with OTEPI Renewables, the subsidiary devoted to Renewable energy initiatives.

Luis has a BA/BS from Universidad Metropolitana de Caracas, Venezuela and an MBA from Stern School of Business in New York City. In addition, we count with the hands-on support of our Advisory Board whose members – 5 business executives – provide both strategic and accountability guidance, as well as management and business development advice.

Alejandro Burgana

Alejandro is Managing Director of OBE Power Networks and CEO of Brickell Energy, Inc. A seasoned entrepreneur and avid promoter of clean energy, Alejandro founded Brickell Energy in 2009 to produce biofuels.

In 2012, after getting the 2nd electric vehicle available in Miami, he reinvented the company’s core business to become the largest EVSE supplier in Florida.

In 2014, Alejandro developed the aFLoat program to accelerate the adoption of public charging stations and promote EV driving as the most effective way to reduce CO2 emissions from transportation. Alejandro has a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Universidad Metropolitana and an MBA from Stern School of Business NYU.

Emily Berlin
Business Development

Emily is a strategic consultant to SoEnergy International Inc., an affiliate of Helm Holdings International, operating globally in the energy sector. From 2001 to 2012 she was a Senior Managing Director of Helm Holdings, a diversified privately owned group of companies, where she focused principally on the banking and energy sectors. Prior to her work with Helm Holdings, she was a partner in the international law firm of Shearman & Sterling. She has also been a member of the Board of Directors of Birks Group Inc., an NYSE-listed public company, and its predecessor companies, since 2002. She is a member of the International Women’s Forum, an invitation-only, membership organization comprised of approximately 7000 women from 33 nations on six continents.

Marianella Paul
Organization and Strategy

Ms. Paúl is a Director of Otepi S.A. As a consultant to the CEO she provides strategy and organization advise at corporate, portfolio and project level. Ms Paúl worked as Senior Consultant for Arthur D. Little providing strategy, and organization advisory to leading companies across sectors in Latin America. Ms. Paúl holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, a Diplôme D’Ingénieur from the Institut Français du Pétrole, a Master of Science in Energy Management from the UPenn and a Master of Business Administration from MIT. In addition, Ms. Paúl is Founder and Executive Director of Autism en Voz Alta, a non-for-profit autism education organization that provide services to +400 families annually.

Neil Malloy
Finance

Mr. Malloy has spent more than 40 years of his career at Siderurgica Venezolana SIVENSA, the largest publicly traded industrial holding company in Venezuela. Most of his career at SIVENSA was in the financial area serving as Chief Financial Officer for over 25 years. Currently, he is the chairman of International Briquette Holdings, a publicly traded division of SIVENSA. Mr. Malloy has served on the Board of Directors of some of largest companies in Latin America: steel (Sidor), paint (Corimon), aluminum (Venalum, Bauxiven, and Interalumina), and automotive parts industry (joint ventures of SIVENSA with TRW, Kelsey Hayes, Maremont, Eaton, and Dana). He was president of IVEF (Venezuelan Institute of Financial Executives) between 1989 and 1993. Mr. Malloy holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Rafael De Lemos
Corporate Law

Rafael is Senior Partner of Raffalli de Lemos Halvorssen Ortega y Ortiz (RdHOO), member of the TERRALEX Network. He is also Member of the Corporate Finance and Capital Markets Committee of the Venezuelan-American Chamber of Commerce (VENAMCHAM) and Member of the Finance and Tax Committees of the British-Venezuelan Chamber of Commerce (BRITCHAM). Rafael has been recognized by International Financial Law Review as one of the top attorneys in Venezuela and by Best Lawyers as the top attorney in Venezuela in Banking, Capital markets, Corporate and M&A for more than 10 years. He is also Professor of Commercial and Corporate Law at Universidad Católica Andres Bello since 1996. Rafael earned his Law degree from Universidad Católica Andres Bello and Master of Laws, LL.M. from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.

Carlos Caballero
Marketing and Operations

Carlos is the Executive Vice-President, General Manager of ExcelCare Products LLC. Carlos has over 20 years of experience in the Consumer Goods Industry; General Management, Marketing & Sales in both Latam and USA. He is also Member of the Consumer Products Committee of Venezuelan-American Chamber of Commerce VENAMCHAM. Carlos also in the Board of Directors of the Regis House, a charitable and community-based organization. Carlos earned his Bachelor in Economics, from University Católica Andrés Bello and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Bath, United Kingdom.
